What you are going to do
As a hotel manager you guarantee quality on board and ensure an optimal working and living environment. You are responsible for all operational activities on board, including:
- Act as a point of contact for stakeholders on board.
- Managing housekeeping, reception, kitchen and security.
- Creating schedules and work layout.
- Determining staffing levels, recruiting and appointing new employees.
- Monitoring efficiency and productivity of work processes.
- Carrying out inspections.
- Coordinating and managing inventory.
- Enforcing occupational health and safety, hygiene and safety regulations (HACCP, personal protective equipment, etc.).
- Taking the lead in emergency response measures.
Your profile
You have gained experience in the catering industry. You know how to inspire others to work towards a common goal. Our ideal hotel manager is organized, critical and flexible. You also have:
- Completed MBO-4/HBO education, preferably in hotel management.
- Experience in managing and motivating a team within hospitality, preferably on river or seagoing vessels.
- Has a guest-oriented attitude and knows how to convey this to colleagues.
- You have a hands-on mentality and know how to help when busy.
- Oral and written expression skills in both Dutch and English.
- Preferably you stay on board and otherwise live in the Zaandam area.
- It is an advantage if you have the STCW-Basic certificate or are willing to obtain it at the expense of Slaapschips.
What you can expect from us
The project duration is five years. We give you a one-year contract, with the possibility of extension. We also offer the following:
- Full-time employment (40 hours per week).
- A versatile position within a pleasant working environment, where there is room for your own input.
- Salary of a minimum of € 3.243,19 and a maximum of € 4.032,49 gross per month based on 40 hours per week (scale 9 in accordance with the general collective labor agreement for the hospitality industry).
- Travel allowance based on € 0,21 per kilometer.
- 25 vacation days per year with full-time employment.

night watch

As a night watchman you are the reliable link on a floating (hotel) accommodation. You ensure a safe working and living environment and are ready for the stakeholders on board. Do you feel called to contribute to a safe and hospitable atmosphere? Then read on!
Who we are

What you are going to do
You identify and act adequately on unsafe and undesirable situations during your inspection rounds. You come into contact with residents, visitors and of course your colleagues, which means you must have strong communication skills. Furthermore, your duties include:
- Ensuring ship safety on board.
- Ensuring a safe working and living environment by conducting rounds on board.
- Identifying, following up and reporting security incidents and unwanted situations.
- Supervising the logistics process of the suppliers.
- Play a role in emergency response measures.
- Taking over the reception during the night.
The working hours are from 23:00 PM - 7:30 AM.
Your profile
Our ideal night watch is alert, service-oriented and can deal well with resistance. You also have:
- MBO working and thinking level and in possession of a Security Guard level 2 diploma.
- At least 1 year of experience as a security officer in an international environment.
- Knowledge of surveillance and security protocols.
- In addition to the Dutch language, you also speak English well.
- In possession of a Certificate of Good Conduct (job specific screening profile) or willing to apply for this at the expense of Slaapschips.
- Preferably living in the Zaandam area.
- It is an advantage if you have the STCW-Advanced certificate or are willing to obtain it at the expense of Sleepers.
What you can expect from us
The project duration is five years. We give you a one-year contract, with the possibility of extension. We also offer the following:
- Contract hours of 24 – 40 hours per week.
- A versatile position within a pleasant working environment, where there is room for your own input.
- Salary of a minimum of € 2.203,59 and a maximum of € 2.633,49 gross per month based on 40 hours per week (scale 5 in accordance with the general collective labor agreement for the hospitality industry).
- Surcharges at irregular times.
- Travel allowance based on € 0,21 per kilometer.
- 25 vacation days per year with full-time employment.

What you are going to do
You give everyone a warm welcome on board and are the connecting factor between residents, staff, suppliers and many more parties. Your tasks include, among other things:
- Maintaining the reception environment.
- Receiving guests at the counter.
- Maintaining the occupancy lists.
- Issuing room keys.
- Taking care of light administrative work.
- Answering the telephone and emails.
- Receiving orders.
- Assisting in other departments when busy.
The working hours are from 07:00 AM - 15:30 PM or from 15:00 PM - 23:30 PM.
Your profile
It is of course important that you have a representative attitude, are customer-oriented and have good communication skills. Furthermore, we ask the following to be successful in this role:
- Minimum MBO working and thinking level.
- Some experience with reception work and/or service positions, preferably in an international environment.
- Good command of the Dutch and English language in word and writing.

- Participate in room inspections.
- Making breakfast for the Sleeping Ships staff and the nautical staff.

- Experience in cleaning, preferably housekeeping in the hotel industry.

- Purchasing from suppliers.
Your profile
- Completed chef training at MBO level, supplemented with at least 2 years of kitchen experience, preferably on a river or sea vessel.

The MPS Mare Luna is owned by Sleeping Ships. It is a stationary accommodation ship moored in Franeker. We are looking for a technical manager to keep the ship in good condition.

What you are going to do
- You are the face of Slaapschappen and the point of contact for nautical and technical issues
- Carrying out minor technical repairs and maintenance
- Gauging and maintaining tank levels, such as the diesel tank and the water tank
- Pumping out waste water
- Keep technical areas clean
- Clean the outside of the ship
- Paint
We are looking for someone who doesn't mind staying on board. Food and your own cabin will be arranged for you. The work schedule is based on 2 weeks on and 4 weeks off over the period 04-12-2023 to 30-04-2024.

- Has an MBO working and thinking level
- Has technical insight into a river vessel
- Can independently perform (minor) maintenance

As a Technical Employee you are responsible for carrying out technical work on various projects within the Netherlands, mainly in the west of the Netherlands. You are an essential part of our team and play a crucial role in successfully managing the technical aspects within our projects.
- Carrying out technical work: you carry out various technical tasks, ranging from installations and repairs to maintenance work, depending on the project you are working on.
- Diagnostics and troubleshooting: you analyze technical problems, diagnose and implement effective solutions to ensure that all systems function optimally.
- Documentation and reporting: you keep detailed documentation of all work carried out, including technical specifications, reports and any adjustments that have been made.
