We are looking for a motivated and skilled Technical Maintenance Officer to strengthen our Technical Department for 40 hours per week.

Who We Are

Slaapschepen organises temporary project accommodation on board ships, from initial request to implementation on site. We take care of the entire process: from design and operational management to daily coordination. We remain involved throughout the stay and ensure that everything runs smoothly. Wherever there is water, we can quickly and efficiently realise suitable accommodation solutions.

Your Role

As a Technical Maintenance Officer, you are responsible for independently carrying out technical work across various projects within the Netherlands. This includes installation, maintenance, and repair of facilities on our vessels, as well as providing support during renovations of Slaapschepen office buildings.

You will spend several days per week traveling to project locations in North and South Holland. Other work activities take place in Friesland. You are a vital part of our team and play a key role in successfully managing the technical aspects of our projects.

Your responsibilities include, among others:

• Visiting vessels (projects) and performing technical tasks, ranging from installations and repairs to maintenance of facilities provided by Slaapschepen, such as (laundry) containers and security cameras.
• Performing maintenance and repair work on buildings and installations under the supervision of the Head of the Technical Department.
• Analyzing technical issues, diagnosing problems, and implementing effective solutions to ensure optimal operation of all systems and equipment.
• Maintaining detailed documentation of all completed work, including technical specifications, reports, and any modifications made.
• Ensuring a safe and tidy living and working environment on board the vessels by strictly adhering to safety guidelines and procedures.
• Ensuring that all technical activities meet the highest quality standards and technical requirements.
• Providing broad support to the Technical Department.
• Being available by phone, or present on-site if required, outside regular working hours to provide appropriate solutions in case of emergencies.
• Working closely with colleagues from the technical department and other stakeholders within the projects to ensure smooth project execution.

Your Profile

As a Technical Maintenance Officer, you are practically minded and have strong problem-solving skills. You are capable of setting clear goals and working within tight schedules to achieve them. You have strong technical insight, a hands-on mentality, and can communicate effectively with a wide range of people.

Additionally, you have:

• A completed technical education at MBO level, preferably in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a comparable field.
• Relevant experience in a similar role, preferably within the technical and/or maritime sector.
• Knowledge of technical systems, equipment, and tools.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, a flexible attitude, and the ability to work independently.
• A valid category B driving license.
• Residence in or around Leeuwarden.
• Willingness to travel to various project locations throughout the Netherlands.

What We Offer

We offer a 7-month employment contract, with the intention of extension. In addition, we provide:

• A gross monthly salary between €2,978.67 and €3,769.62 based on a 40-hour workweek, depending on knowledge and experience.
• A 40-hour working week.
• 25 vacation days per year based on full-time employment.
• Holiday allowance of 8% of the gross annual salary.
• Travel allowance for commuting of €0.23 per kilometer.
• A company car is available for business travel.
• A contribution scheme of 10% on top of your gross monthly salary, allowing you to save for a pension fund.
