Hotel accommodation during the Zuidwal offshore gas platform project

Spending the night in the middle of the sea is not one of the easiest tasks. The Canadian company Vermillion also experienced this during the refit of the Zuidwal gas platform on the Wadden Sea. This unmanned gas pumping station was in need of replacing the gas pipeline. To this end, the channel to the platform first had to be dredged to allow a special purpose ship to moor alongside.

A number of Slaapschappen.nl ships were called upon for the accommodation and care of the almost 20 crew members. This quick job of less than 10 days was completed successfully and within the time slot, partly thanks to the deployment of the ships. The lack of a long daily journey for the crew to a hotel on shore (minimum 2 hours of sailing per day) and the meals provided on board resulted in a cost-efficient solution.
